SOIL TESTING METHODS

Buyers Agents will often request soil samples when an underground heating oil tank has been located and has not been decommissioned under the ODEQ Heating Oil Tank Program (HOT).

Soil is tested within close proximity to the tanks location to determine if a release event has occurred. DEQ compliance dictates the sampling procedure including depth, location, collection method, handling and laboratory analysis. The soil testing and site assessment process at Environmental Works strictly adheres to DEQ regulations.

Lab results are offered within 24 hours of testing but Environmental Works can provide preliminary results within minutes of the sampling.

The ODEQ requires that any site with a confirmed release of heating oil be reported to them within 72 hours. If heating oil release is found, we can offer several cleanup and remediation options and advise the best path forward for your circumstance.
